Top Ten Alaskan Hunting Guide Gear
When I go out into the wilderness, hundreds of miles from civilization, there are certain things that I never leave without. Although my list of Items will vary depending on time of year, location, and type of animal that is being pursued, these are my mainstays, and also many other guides in Alaska. Some of this gear is quite expensive, and there are some comparable items, the quality of these cannot be beat.

[...] always coincide with the topic and or the content that is required. I already expounded about the Alaskan guide pack list, but I also spend a great deal of time in an office, and traveling with my office always in tow. [...]

What caliber rifle do you carry?
No hip boots? You must be on Kodiak or inland.

Dude,
Do you have to take a trailer to carry all that gear? Or do you get a “local” to carry it like Ed Hillary used to do?!!
It is fun to have an exciting outdoor life vicariously through your blogs. Please keep posting stories and photos.
Cheers,
Phil

Great list and good advice on what the pros use. It helps when folks with experience share their equipment choices.

Thanks for all of the comments, Bill, I carry a 300 Winchester Short Mag, For all hunts as a back up rifle. And I do use hip boots on some moose hunts, but I actually use fly fishing waders, so that way I can cross rivers and stay dry.
Phil, yes I do carry all of that on my back. A packer is occasionally along, but not very often. Keeps me in shape.
